The following section will explain in detail how to play the game in order to efficiently earn in-game currency and new sneakers.
Three types of spots (facilities) scattered throughout the map
When you start the app, the first screen that appears is the one below. You will see purple marks dotted around the map.
Firstly, when earning steps, it is efficient to move around the spots (facilities) scattered across the map, as shown in the image above.
There are three types of spots (facilities), each with the following roles.
『Tresure Stash』
In “Tresure Stash”, you can get Aglet, which are the in-game currency.
Normally, you can get 500 Aglets, but rarely you can get 1,000 to 2,000 Aglets. Also, if you are lucky, a shoebox will drop and you can get a sneaker by opening that shoebox.
There is also a cooldown time, which in the case of “Tresure Stash” allows you to visit the site again after 22 hours have elapsed since you visited once.
Conversely, you can’ t visit the facilities while this cooldown time is not released, so there is a need to think about how to get around the facilities more strategically.
The basic game action is to move towards this “Tresure Stash” first, while increasing the number of Aglets you own and the number of sneakers you have.
『Repair station』
The “Repair station” is a spot where sneakers that have deteriorated in condition due to movement can be restored.
Various conditions are set for recovery.
In the image above, the following information is provided “The recovery amount is 60%, the sneaker ranks that can be recovered are Tiers 3, 4 and 5, and a 24-hour cooldown time (once this point has been used, there must be a 24-hour interval between uses)”.
『Deadstock station』
“Deadstock station” is, as an image, a kind of upward compatibility with “Repair Station”.
In the image above, the following information is provided ” The recovery amount is 100%, the sneaker ranks that can be recovered are Tiers 0, 1 and 2, and a seven-day cooldown time (once this point has been used, there must be a seven-day interval between uses)”.
The three types of spots (facilities) move randomly after a certain period of time. In other words, the system is fluid, with spots never remaining in the same place for a long period of time.
Some players use bicycles or cars to concentrate on visiting spots on a single day, as walking is not an efficient way of visiting spots (facilities) if they are far apart.
“Tresure Stash” and “Repair station” have a basic cooldown, so the key is to click on the spot (facility) you plan to visit, watch the time pass and see how efficiently you can visit it.
When you click on a spot, the time until the cooldown time is released is displayed, as shown in the red framed part of the image above. In this case, it shows that the cooldown time will be released after approximately 2 hours and 12 minutes.
Check sneaker parameters
Each sneaker has a defined range of set values (parameters).
Let’s look at them step by step.
①: Deterioration of the sneaker
If this percentage reaches 0%, the Aglet cannot be gained by moving.
②: GCP value
G stands for Grip, C for Condition and P for Protection, and the values of each parameter change depending on the actual weather conditions, which determines the boost value displayed beside it.
In the image above, the display shows a boost of x1.9 to the normal value.
③: EARN RATE
This is the basic ability value at which the sneaker earns Aglets.
This sneaker earns 72 Aglets for every 1,000 steps.
④: MAX BOOST RATE
This is the maximum capacity value that can be earned when the boost is maximised.
⑤: DURABILITY
This is the durability value of the sneaker. The higher this value, the slower the sneaker deteriorates.
⑥: CLASS
Sneaker rank.
There are five levels from 1 to 5, with 5 being the lowest and 1 the highest rank.
Depending on this type, there are classifications for facilities that can be used and repair items that can be purchased in the in-game shop.
⑦: LIFETIME STEPS
Displays the total number of steps walked using the displayed sneaker.
⑧: PURCHASED PRICE
The purchase price of this sneaker.
⑨: REPAIRS REMAINING
This is the number of times you can restore the deterioration of your sneaker.
In the image above, this means that repairs can only be made once, including the use of repair supplies available in the in-game shop and by visiting the ” Repair station” or ” Deadstock station”.
Among the sneaker’s parameters (set values), the point that should be watched every time you start walking is ②: boost value according to the GCP value.
For each sneaker you own, this value will vary depending on the weather conditions of the day, so the key to efficiently earning the in-game currency Aglet is to select a sneaker with a relatively high boost value based on ③: EARN RATE and accumulate the number of steps.
Also, ⑨: REPAIRS REMAINNING is an important indicator.
For example, even if the values of ③: EARN RATE and ④: MAX BOOST RATE are high for upper class sneaker, if the number of times they can be repaired is limited to one, they are sensibly close to disposable, which reduces the profit margin when purchased at a high price in shops and markets.
This depends on your way of thinking, but I personally feel that it is better to choose a medium class sneaker with a ⑨: REPAIRS REMAINING of “3 of 3 repairs”.
